Ayy! Who is up for the first article on this blog? Let’s get it. Before we get to the actual topic, let’s discuss what you can expect from us and this blog in general. As you already know we’re here to talk about fashion. All the latest news, tips and tricks are generally what we’re here to talk about.
Okay, stress in fashion. This is a huge topic and unfortunately, it’s not widely covered, we need to change that. This article is what you ultimately need to read if you dream of pursuing a career in fashion. We’re gonna talk about all the struggles you need to overcome, all the problems you need to solve before you make it in this tough industry.
This is not just the words for the article’s sake. There’re many fashion students who are doing drugs on a regular basis due to the amount of workload they have to do. That’s not right and you need to be aware of that.
At the end of the day, no one said that it will be an easy ride. You need to love fashion otherwise there’s no real reason why would you wanna work in this industry. I’m not bashing on your ideas, but seriously, why wouldn’t you pursue a different career? If you’re looking for the money in fashion, just leave. You need to have passion and give your 100% every day.
If you want to disagree with me, fair enough, but please consider reading further. I know your doubts over my competence, but I’m gonna clear them out rn.
Listen, I heard that the fashion industry is such a fun and creative field, why are you talking sh*t? Okay, let’s discuss. First of all, as I already said you need to have mad love for fashion if you want to make a career in this industry. It’s gonna be tough, but I encourage you to do what you love and I wish all the best.
So why are you’re talking about stress then? It’s a creative field as you already know and there’s too much emphasis on expectations and results. It’s not your regular 8hrs a day job, it’s different. You can’t just work your hours and switch off for the rest of the day and not have to worry about anything. You have to always be in the circle even when you’re at home, otherwise, you’re out of the door if you know what I mean.
It’s not just the words tho. There’s no intense workload and pressure you say? 2015. Raf Simons left Dior; Alexander Wang – Balenciaga; Alber Elbaz – Lanvin.
It’s a unique job. When you’re not performing and your creativity is on the low, you need to worry big time cause there is a herd of people lining up for the position you hold. Every year you need to work harder, achieve better results, push further overall. Only in the fashion industry, you can do months of work only to then be criticised for your lack of effort and fresh ideas.
I hope you’ve got my idea. There’re many problems, but do you have a proper love for fashion? You have the green light then and I wish all the best in your career. More fire articles on the way. Stay tuned!
